Runway Program
Launched in 2020, the Aero Club of Washington’s Runway Program is designed to connect, educate, and inspire the next generation of aviation and aerospace professionals.
Whether you’re just beginning your career, new to the industry, or an experienced professional looking to give back as a mentor, the Runway Program provides opportunities to build meaningful connections, expand your knowledge, and become more involved in the Washington, DC aviation community.
The program supports the Aero Club’s mission of providing a forum for the discussion and advancement of aviation and aerospace by bringing together emerging professionals with established industry leaders through networking, professional development, and mentorship opportunities.
What We Do
The Runway Program typically hosts 2–3 events each year, offering a mix of educational and social opportunities designed specifically for emerging professionals. Past events have included:
- Aviation Trivia Night
- After-hours tours of the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum
- Networking Happy Hours
- Reauthorization 101 and Appropriations 101 educational sessions
- Career development and industry networking events

Who Can Participate?
The Runway Program is open to:
- Young professionals age 40 and under
- Professionals who are new to the aviation or aerospace industry within the last 5 years
- Aero Club members of any age who are interested in serving as mentors and supporting the next generation of industry leaders
